Building and Zoning
The primary functions of this department are interpretation, administration and enforcement of the zoning ordinance, subdivision regulations, floodplain ordinance, erosion, sediment and storm water management and rural addressing in the unincorporated areas of Woodford County. The zoning office is also responsible for review and issuance of zoning permits, plat approval and processing applications for variances, special use permits, text amendments and rezoning requests.
Woodford County is a non-building code jurisdiction, no building code is adopted.
The department works with the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Conservation, Planning and Zoning Committee and the County Comprehensive Plan to manage zoning, planning, subdividing, building, agriculture areas and floodplain development.

While this department does not provide legal advice, staff does provide opinion and direction to elected and appointed officials, as well as to citizens regarding all development in unincorporated Woodford County.The department works with the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Conservation, Planning and Zoning Committee and the County Comprehensive Plan to manage zoning, planning, subdividing, building, agriculture areas and floodplain development.
