Animal Control

Building/Zoning
The primary functions of this Department are interpretation, administration and enforcement of the zoning ordinance, subdivision regulations, floodplain ordinance, erosion, sediment and storm water management, tall structure ordinance and rural addressing.

Clerk of the Circuit Court
The Clerk of the Circuit Court serves as the administrative arm of the court system. The Circuit Clerk is responsible for keeping the seal of the Circuit Court and all court records filed and heard in the Woodford County judicial system, including criminal and juvenile delinquency cases, ordinance, conservation, and traffic violation cases, as well as civil cases.

Coroner
The Coroner investigates all sudden, natural and violent deaths in the County that appear to be accidental, homicidal or suicidal to determine the cause and manner of death.

County Clerk & Recorder
The Office of the County Clerk operates under the laws and statutes of the State of Illinois and is 1 of 3 county offices commissioned by the Governor. This is an elected office with a 4-year term.

Probation and Court Services
The Mission of Woodford County Probation and Court Services is to serve the Court and community by engaging individuals with services and programs that ensure accountability, enhance public safety, promote restoration of victims, and provide opportunities for positive behavioral change.

Public Defender
The Public Defender's Office is charged with the duty of representing individuals who have been declared indigent by the court in criminal cases and select family and civil cases. The office also represents minors in various juvenile proceedings.

Purchasing
Woodford County Purchasing is coordinated through each individual office in accordance with Illinois Compiled Statutes, Woodford County Purchasing Ordinance, related resolutions of the County Board and administrative policies.

Sheriff
The Office of the Woodford County Sheriff is committed to providing the highest level of quality service. We seek to serve the citizens of Woodford County with integrity, honesty, fairness and pride. The goal of the Office of the Woodford County Sheriff is to assist all victims of crime efficiently and diligently, and strive to prevent further acts of violence and abuse.

State's Attorney
The State’s Attorney has the exclusive responsibility for prosecuting violations of the criminal laws of the State of Illinois as well as traffic violations. The State’s Attorney provides legal advice to all County Officials and represents the County in all actions where the County is a party.

Supervisor of Assessments
The Supervisor of Assesments primary duty is to assess all real property within the jurisdiction in a fair and impartial manner.

Treasurer
The County Treasurer serves as both Treasurer and Collector. The Treasurer is responsible for the record keeping, depositing and investing all of the funds for Woodford County. The Collector is responsible for billing, collecting, investing and distributing property taxes and Mobile Home Taxes.

Veteran's Assistance
The Veterans Assistance Commission is a separate County Government Agency that is operated by and for Veterans. The mission of this office is to provide temporary emergency financial aid, as well as other various services, to indigent Veterans and Veteran's families of Woodford County.
