The following position is currently available in the Woodford County Highway Department located at 301 S Main St Roanoke, IL 61561.
SEASONAL PLOW OPERATOR
This is a part-time position on an as-needed basis with the Maintenance Crew of the Woodford County Highway Department. Position runs from the Monday following Thanksgiving until the last Friday in March. This is a part-time non-union position.
Responsibilities of this job include the performance of manual tasks of more than ordinary difficulty requiring special knowledge and skills. Work involves the operation of trucks and other mechanized equipment, plowing snow, spreading salt and assisting in the maintenance of snowplow equipment. Other highway maintenance work is completed as needed. Work is usually performed under supervision of the Highway Maintenance Foreman who assigns work both orally and in writing, and makes inspections to assure proper performance of work.
Qualifications for this position are: graduation from High School or possession of a GED Certificate, experience driving a truck, ability to climb into and operate large equipment and trucks, ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and other requirements per job description.
The candidate should have a Class B Commercial Drivers’ License with air brake endorsement.
